Oklahoma City, OK, Feb. 09, 2010 - Stockyards City Main Street will be celebrating the completion of our new archway February 18 at 11:00a.m.  Join us as we hold our ribbon-cutting ceremony and celebrate this momentous occasion.  The Greater Oklahoma City Chamber will be present to cut the ribbon; and in true Stockyards City style, reenactors from the United States Marshals Posse will be on horseback patrolling the area.

The archway was installed on Agnew Avenue, just south of the Oklahoma River.  It is the new welcome into Stockyards City from I-40, lined with red LED lights that can be seen from the freeway at night.  The framing was installed October 21, 2009, with the letters and lighting added over the following weeks.  The lights were turned on December 31, 2009.

The original concept was designed by district western artist Jack J. Wells and was financially achieved through a TEA-21 Grant from the Department of Transportation.  This concept was several years in the making, and we are very proud to see it completed.
